Here's a re-doo of a picture that I did a while ago. Painted with acrylic on canvas

Fly bike

I had the opportunity to work at this top little festival last month http://www.facebook.com/somethingelseinthedean?fref=ts

We did a cartoon workshop and myself and the kids really enjoyed the awesome creativity that came about. Kids have such amazing imaginations :)

As it was in the forest of dean I wrote a little story for the kids to illustrate called 'Deep down in the Dean'. I'll post some pics when I can get my hands on a scanner

Deep down in the forest of Dean, there are creatures heard but seldom seen...
Badgers snuffling in their sets, fallow dear hiding and hedging their bets. We walk through the the woods among the trees of old, with Ravens squawking and being quite bold. A little further on and the woods get thicker, squirrels jumping, hiding their nuts in the leaf litter.
Then we hear a whirl and a click,a mountain bike flys past; quick! We see a shady spot and it looks just fine, open our sandwiches on which we can dine. A cup of tea for Mum, bottle of beer for Dad. We sit upon the forest floor and we can feel glad.
All the beauty that surrounds us should never be taken for granted, we must keep our forest here and keep the trees planted.
We've got Foxes and Dormice, Bats and Dippers. All sorts of birds that in Spring have nippers.
We often look up but now we look down, look for the life that lives down there is hidden in the brown. A magical mushroom here, a Devils coach horse there. A fern unfolding its long green curly hair. With brambles and berries and nuts on the branches, we love to explore and take our chances.
For if we look and make no mess, the forest of Dean will be around for a long time, yes!

Shed life

I've a new shed to live in. It's ace! So, here's a little cartoon of my shed...

long time gone

Well, I've been a long time gone. Life's changed a wee bit but all is good and I'm ready again to start work.
I'm getting on with my Goglet and Pea book, I've written a fair bit and really getting into writing recently. So, as well as artwork (which I'll be up loading soon) I've written a few poems. Just a bit of nonsense really but I do think that opening me up a little. I'm still working on illustrations for a childrens book and I'll have them finished soon(ish).

I've a new studio in Derby and it's been a real inspiration being there. Here's a poem I wrote when procrastinating (an artform all by itself)

The Marble

Today I found a marble, sat upon the floor
Picked it up and looked at it
Then I wanted more
I went into the garden, and started looking around
Began digging and found one, stuck there in the ground
Pulled it up and rubbed it
Washed it shiny and new
But to play with all my marbles, I had too few
I must look for all my marbles
To  play with them is a must!
But I long lost all my marbles
Many years since thus.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some are big
Some are small
Some have coloured swirls
Some nothing at all
Some are chipped and broken
Some are shiny and new
Some have been used as ammo
Some were once too many
Some are now too few
Some were swapped
Some were lost
Some were free; at no cost
Some of us have forgotten
Some pretend to forget
Some will remember one day
Some marbles have not all been lost yet

I thank kew!
